Infrastructure Investor Roundtable: The America-First Building Boom

In Infrastructure Investor’s North America roundtable, Fund Partner Jesse Krynak discusses the opportunities emerging from rising power demand and changing market dynamics.

Growing demand for power and connectivity is creating opportunities across North American infrastructure. In Infrastructure Investor’s October roundtable, Jesse Krynak, Fund Partner at I Squared Capital, shares how the firm is approaching these opportunities through targeted investment and platform development.

Jesse highlights renewed interest in U.S. renewables, where shifting valuations and reduced competition for new investments are creating more attractive entry points. He points to I Squared’s acquisition of renewable energy developer Oriden as one example, alongside investments across the natural gas value chain to support growing electricity demand.

In digital infrastructure, Jesse outlines I Squared’s focus on edge and inference data centers within the broader AI ecosystem. He also discusses the growth of Ezee Fiber, which the firm has expanded through substantial organic investment and selective acquisitions, illustrating its approach to building businesses over time.

That approach extends to transportation and logistics, where Jesse emphasizes disciplined investment in a competitive market.

“We prefer to start with small industrial platforms and then scale over time,” he says, highlighting student transportation as an example of a business supported by long-term municipal contracts and opportunities for expansion through acquisitions.
