In Financial Standard, I Squared leaders discuss the launch of the ISQ OpenInfra AUT Fund, the firm’s longstanding presence in Australia, and the growing role of private infrastructure in individual investor portfolios.

The launch is intended to provide eligible Australian investors with access to I Squared’s global infrastructure platform. It also builds on the firm’s longstanding institutional presence in the country, where I Squared has worked with Australian superannuation funds, sovereign wealth funds, and insurers since 2014. Since opening its Sydney office in 2022, the firm has committed more than $2.1 billion to businesses operating across Australia.

The article also highlights the appointment of Linda Stangherlin as Director, Investor Relations, to help lead the platform’s growth across the region. Based in Sydney, Linda brings more than 20 years of experience across investment management and wealth, with expertise in alternative investments, portfolio construction, and adviser engagement.

Irina Zilbergleyt, Managing Director and Global Head of Distribution and Product Strategy for OpenInfra, discusses how the launch extends I Squared’s existing Australian relationships into the private wealth market.

Gautam Bhandari, Managing Partner and Global Chief Investment Officer, also considers the broader investment backdrop. He discusses why I Squared believes infrastructure is in the early stages of a global supercycle, driven by investment needs across artificial intelligence, power, digital infrastructure, and essential services, alongside growing fiscal constraints on governments.

The feature further explores infrastructure’s potential role within private wealth portfolios. Gautam describes the asset class as occupying a distinctive middle ground, with the potential to combine equity participation, credit-like income, and exposure to real assets with inflation-linked revenues.
